VPlay 5.10: Enhanced Tools for Reliable Video Stream Management

27 Feb

Stream Labs, a trusted provider of broadcast technology solutions, has introduced VPlay 5.10, bringing new features to improve video stream control, ensure reliable backup operations, and refine ad insertion precision. This update is designed to help broadcasters maintain smooth on-air performance by reducing disruptions, minimizing errors, and enhancing audience engagement.

Key Updates in VPlay 5.10

Flexible Backup Mode for Seamless Channel Management (1+1)

Adjusting channel settings during maintenance often leads to operational challenges and potential mistakes. VPlay 5.10 allows backup channels to be temporarily separated and resynchronized without restarting the broadcast application, reducing the risk of signal loss and simplifying workflow management.

"Clean" Feed Output for Multi-Platform Distribution

To accommodate the increasing demand for diverse content delivery, VPlay 5.10 enables simultaneous output of both a graphics-enriched stream for broadcast and a "clean" feed for OTT services, partners, or archiving, offering greater distribution flexibility.

New On-Air Countdown Timer for Precise Scheduling

Accurate timing is crucial in live production. The new automated countdown system helps directors and operators manage key events with precision, ensuring seamless scheduling and execution.

Automated Handling of Corrupt Media Files

A single faulty media file can disrupt an entire broadcast. VPlay 5.10 introduces an automatic "Skip Failed Item" function that bypasses damaged files, preventing playback interruptions and eliminating the need for manual playlist corrections.

Improved Graphics Management: CG Previews & Logo Template Display

The update enhances workflow efficiency by offering real-time CG previews directly in the on-air player. Operators can now view graphics before airing them, and logo template names are displayed for easier content preparation and execution.

Extended SCTE Marker Support for Accurate Ad Insertions

With upgraded SCTE marker processing, broadcasters gain improved control over ad breaks and better tracking for reporting. The system now supports unique UPID identifiers in line with AWS SCTE-35 standards, ensuring accurate ad delivery and compliance with advertiser requirements.

Expanded Hardware Support with AJA Corvid 44

VPlay 5.10 extends compatibility with AJA Corvid 44 I/O cards, enhancing SDI signal processing and embedded audio support. This provides broadcasters with more flexibility and higher-quality output.

VPlay 5.10 empowers broadcasters with enhanced control, automation, and reliability, ensuring seamless video stream management in an increasingly complex media landscape. With these updates, Stream Labs continues to refine its solutions to meet the evolving demands of the industry, helping professionals deliver high-quality content with confidence.
